Service Center Technician

Company Name:
Regularly repairs, recharges, cleans, and prepares batteries for shipment. Occasionally travels to customer facilities to neutralize, clean, and repair batteries.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Travels to customer sites to evaluate, diagnose, and repair defective equipment.
Removes and disassembles cells and inspects parts to detect defects.
Replaces defective parts, reassembles battery, and fuses lead parts with gas torch.
Fills cells with acid solution and determines specific gravity of solution.
Attaches charger leads to battery posts or connector and starts charger.
Reads meters and adjusts charge parameters to control time and flow of current through battery.
Washes, cleans, and neutralizes customer's batteries at customer location or in the service center.
Prepares new product for shipment.
Loads and unloads truck.
Maintains records of performance reports.

Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent; or industry related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A basic mechanical aptitude.
Previous experience working with hand and power tools.
Able to read and comprehend manuals, procedures, and other written documents written in English.
Able and willing to operate a forklift truck.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a daily continuous basis.
Able and willing to travel to customer sites.
Must be at least 18 years of age and at least 21 years of age to drive a company vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
A basic electrical understanding.
The use of test equipment and reading schematics.
The ability to quickly analyze and troubleshoot defective equipment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
